Why are there only two liquid elements?
The reason there aren’t many elements that are liquid at room temperature is simply that the liquid state is an intermediate state of matter, and therefore has the smallest range of possible temperature and pressure values. Mercury is the only metal which is found in a liquid state at room temperature.
