What is the best length for a ski rope?
In general, an average starter length for wakeboard tow ropes for beginners is 45 to 50 feet. Advanced wakeboarders and riders doing tricks could have up to 60 to 70 feet of length. For water skiers, most normal-length ropes range from 60 to 70 feet, depending on the age and level of the skier. Wakeboard and waterski ropes are not the same. Ski ropes have some stretch which allow skiers to more comfortably carve through their turns. Wakeboard ropes have virtually no stretch, maximizing riders’ pop during tricks.Ski ropes are meant to have at least a minimal amount of stretch. This helps to reduce the shock applied to the rider’s arms when making tight turns and transitioning from carving left to right, and vice versa.Ski rope is extremely versatile, suited to a variety of applications like towing rope for water sports and tie downs for storage covers and tents.
