What is the beach ball game called?
beach volleyball – derivative of volleyball played outdoors on soft sand, using a slightly larger and lighter ball, typically in two teams of two or occasionally four without substitutes, and best of three sets rather than five. Beach handball – basic rules players can start from anywhere within the field. They move by holding the ball in their hands. At one time they can take a maximum of 3 steps before passing the ball to another player. Dribbling is also possible, that is, dropping the ball on the sand and then taking it back.
Which Olympic sport is played on a beach?
Olympic beach volleyball is a team sport played by two players on each side of a sand court divided by a net. The objective of the game is to hit the ball – with hands or arms only – over the net into the opponents’ court until the other side is unable to return the ball or the ball heads outside of the court lines. Similar to indoor volleyball, the objective of the game is to send the ball over the net and to ground it on the opponent’s side of the court. Each team also works together to prevent the opposing team from grounding the ball on their side of the court.
