What is a shore port?
Shoreport, a drive on jet ski dock, is easy to use and easy to own too. Simple drive on, push off functionality, maximizes your time on the water. Use bumpers or fenders once you are close to the dock, attach fenders or bumpers to the side of the jet ski that will be in contact with the dock. These protective cushions prevent the jet ski’s side from rubbing directly against the dock, reducing the risk of scratches and damage.Approach: Align your Jet Ski with the dock and approach it straight on. Speed: Maintain a steady speed, just enough to drive onto the dock without overshooting. Safety: Ensure the drive-on dock is properly positioned and free of obstacles.
What is a shore supply connection?
Shore Supplies are used for connecting power to trains when they are stabled or in depots for maintenance. They are used to provide power for battery charging. However, less than 20 ports worldwide currently provide shore power for large cruise ships – three of these are in Germany. The industry encourages port authorities to invest in sustainable shore power infrastructure as well and that shore power is produced from green, renewable sources.Commercial ships can use shore-supplied power for services such as cargo handling, pumping, ventilation and lighting while in port, they need not run their own diesel engines, reducing air pollution emissions.
