What happened to Manta bodyboards?
In the early 2000’s Manta was sold to a new owner and their plan was to shift the production of making boards overseas. However, the winds of change swept through the company in the early 2000s as it transitioned ownership, leading to a shift in production overseas. The New Zealand company behind Manta5 was liquidated and sold in May 2024 to another New Zealand company, Tigerfish Foils, who retained some of the original development team.
