The announcement was part of the world’s biggest retailer’s latest quarterly earnings report, in which it said its online sales surged 74% during the coronavirus pandemic.
What happened to the jet set?
On 8 April 2025, the roof of the Jet Set nightclub in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic collapsed during a live performance by merengue musician Rubby Pérez. The structural failure occurred at approximately 12:44 a. AST, resulting in 236 fatalities and more than 180 injuries. They were among the at least 221 people who were killed Tuesday when what had started as a celebratory night turned into one of the Dominican Republic’s deadliest events. The roof of the bustling Jet Set nightclub collapsed, plunging an entire nation into mourning.
