Is WHOOP accurate when swimming?
Swimming can challenge HR accuracy due to water pressure, motion, and skin contact. To improve readings: Fit matters: WHOOP should be snug, about 1 inch above the wrist bone. If loose, water disrupts sensor contact. If you plan to wear a heart rate monitor while swimming, Garmin® recommends one of the following heart rate monitor straps: HRM 600. HRM-Pro™ monitor. HRM-Pro™ Plus monitor.
Does WHOOP pick up swimming?
Most importantly, the Whoop is able to capture accurate swim session data when secured in the compartment with the heart rate monitor side of the Whoop touching the athlete’s skin. WHOOP automatically detects activities based on elevated heart rate, movement patterns, and strain levels: Activities are logged after heart rate returns to baseline, which can take up to 20 minutes post-workout.WHOOP is highly accurate for most workouts, especially steady-state cardio, strength training, and cycling.Sadly, WHOOP has no ability to use a better heart rate monitor. There’s no way of linking it to a chest strap or getting it to take heart rate data that’s been stored in Strava. So even when you have good data, WHOOP can’t make use of it.
