What do you do in Pirates Cove?
Putt your way through mountain caves, across a full-scale pirate ship, over footbridges and under cascading waterfalls–all amid a fun-filled atmosphere of meticulously-kept landscaping and enchanting pirate lore. Life at sea wasn’t all work and no play. Pirates found various ways to entertain themselves during long voyages. Singing sea shanties, gambling with dice or cards, and telling tales of previous exploits were common pastimes. Some ships even had musicians on board to provide entertainment.
Is pirates cove nudist?
Before you read any further, yes, Pirate’s Cove is a nude beach, so don’t be surprised if you see naked people hanging out there and let this be a warning if going with your family. That being said, the beach and the cave are incredibly beautiful. Its accessible by parking at Secret Harbor Parking area and walking down the access road until you reach the vault toilet and take the trail to the lakeshore (1/2 mile walk from the toilet). There are no picnic tables or BBQs. The beach is 300 yards long (in low water) and accessible by boats (no dock/ pier available).This is one of Lake Tahoe’s nude beaches and if you wear a bathing suit you might be in the minority. Many regulars take pride in keeping the Secret Cove Beach clean, fun and friendly. Get there early to claim your spot especially when the Lake Tahoe water level is high and sandy spots become limited.
