How many people can go white water rafting together?
At normal water levels our rafts can fit three to seven people comfortably. If it is high water, we switch to eight- to ten-man rafts. There’s no set maximum age for rafting with us—in fact, our oldest rafter was 86! However, we do require that rafters meet the expected level of physical fitness and be free from any serious medical conditions. If you’re uncertain about rafting with a specific medical condition, please don’t hesitate to reach out.A: A child should be minimum of 12 years of age for rafting and other water sports activities in Rishikesh. For rafting more than 9 kms, minimum age of eligibility is 18 years.
Do you get wet in rafting?
Rafting is a wet sport by its very nature. You will get wet, and the thrill of it all will make you crave a good splash in the face. Quick-drying water shorts are a great option for days when the water is warm enough that wetsuits aren’t necessary—that way, you’re not just wearing your bathing suit against the rubber of the raft. Lightweight, quick-drying pants or synthetic leggings are a good choice, too.Synthetic clothing, like what you wear to the gym, will make for a much more comfortable rafting experience. You may love your jeans, but they don’t make for the best pants for the river. Swim shorts, gym shorts, or a wet suit are all much better options.Wear quick-drying shorts or pants over your swimsuit (not necessary if your swimsuit has a short bottom). Good options include baggy shorts or athletic leggings. The rafting company will provide you with a PFD (life jacket) and a helmet.Quick dry shorts, synthetic pants, or leggings. No cotton shorts or pants! Quick dry t-shirt, and wool or fleece long sleeved top (that you don’t mind getting wet! Waterproof jacket or shell for an extra layer.Don’t do this! Whitewater rafting is not like a scenic float trip down the river—you’re going to get wet. Jeans or a polo shirt will be sopping wet by the end of your trip and they’ll stay that way until you’re able to change.
