How deep is Queens dock Liverpool?

The Queen Elizabeth II Dock became operational on 19 January 1954. The lock chamber measures 807 by 100 feet (246 by 30 metres) in size with a water depth of 40 feet (12 metres). Two steel gates are located at either end of the lock, with a further gate one third of the way along from the Mersey entrance. The dock was in use for 150 years and finally closed in 1930. It was purchased by Hull Corporation for £100,000. Over the next four years it was filled in and landscaped and became known as Queen’s Gardens.
