Can you wear jeans canoeing?
Jeans are not really suitable for paddling as they will not dry quickly and become heavy when wet. Cotton T shirts also do not dry easily/quickly. Always bring a change of clothes and a towel. However, this design also means that water can easily splash onto the kayak. Your first line of defense against getting wet is choosing the right apparel. Water-resistant clothing specifically designed for paddling is essential. Look for materials that offer both breathability and water repellency.With the right safety steps, even non-swimmers can have a great time kayaking. The most important safety measure for non-swimmers is to always wear a well-fitted life jacket when kayaking. This keeps you afloat if you fall in the water. We also suggest going with experienced kayakers who can help if needed.You need to dress for the temperature of the water, not the air, and dress in clothing that can get wet and you can swim in if needed. If you are kayaking in the summer, protection from the sun will also be important.
