Despite lakes being found at staggering elevations and being able to produce their own tsunamis, they still lack one feature: an actual bottomless depth.The region’s unique lakes are actually sinkholes ranging from 17 to 90 feet deep. They were formed by dissolving limestone and subsequent collapse. Prior to its designation as a state park in 1933, local ranchers used the land for grazing livestock.

Dogs are permitted but must be kept on a lead at all times. Dogs are permitted in the Bar. Dog owners are respectfully asked to clean up after their pets whilst on site and to use the bins provided. May I bring my pet(s)? They must be leashed at all times and you must clean up/pick up after them. Pets are not permitted in the waterpark area, which includes the lake. Pets should never be left alone at your campsite and excessive barking will not be tolerated.Doggy Code of Conduct: Dogs are welcome on the pier and in outdoor bar and dining areas, but need to remain on-leash at all times in the public areas.

Can you swim in Tallington Lakes?
Tallington Lakes have a dedicated open water swimming lake which is fed with clean spring water. Sessions are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday between April and September. The lake is marked out with orange marker buoys and the circuit is 750m. A tow float is mandatory for all swimmers.
