Can you swim in Tallington Lakes?
tallington lakes have a dedicated open water swimming lake which is fed with clean spring water. Sessions are tuesday, thursday, saturday and sunday between april and september. The lake is marked out with orange marker buoys and the circuit is 750m. A tow float is mandatory for all swimmers. Tallington Lakes is the site of a former gravel pit, which ceased operations in the 1970s and was subsequently purchased for redevelopment into a leisure facility covering just over 200 acres, much of which is taken up by the clear, spring-fed lakes which resulted from the site’s excavation.
