East Canyon Reservoir hosts fish species like trout, bass, and catfish, attracting fishing enthusiasts. East Canyon Creek Contains rainbow and brown trout. Mostly private land, limited access. Portions are closed during the winter months.Canyon Lake is a privately gated community. Access into the community is only permitted to residents and their guests.I went with a group of friends camping this past weekend to the Canyon Lake Marina and Campground. There were eight of us in total. We had two RV sites both of which were $55 a night. A little steep but close to the lake.
Is it safe to swim at Canyon Lake?
Swimming and water activities are at your own risk. Please note the following areas are restricted for swimming: No swimming allowed in tunnels. Swimming, snorkeling, skin diving and use of small flotation devices should not go beyond 50 feet from the shore and are prohibited on the Main Lake Ski Area. Swimming, wading, snorkeling or scuba diving at one’s own risk is permitted, except at boat launching sites, designated mooring points and public docks, or other areas so designated by the District Commander. East Canyon State Park is a beautiful spot for paddleboarding near Salt Lake City. This 680-acre reservoir is surrounded by foothills with views of mountain peaks, at an elevation of 5,700 feet. Canyon Lake’s charm is captured by its exclusive 400-acre private lake, a jewel among Southern California’s gated communities.No matter where you live in the community, the lake is always close by and accessible through it’s many parks and beaches. The lake is owned by the Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District and the Canyon Lake Property Owners Association lease the surface and recreation rights.The Army Corps of Engineers operates seven major parks on the shores of Canyon Lake. Several others are managed by Comal County. Some of these parks provide campgrounds, beaches, picnic areas, boat ramps, and opportunities for shoreline fishing. An entrance and/or boat ramp fee is charged at most parks.
