Can a 12 year old drive a boat in SA?
Eligibility. You must be at least 16 years of age to apply for a boat operator’s licence. Children aged between 12 and 16 may apply for a special permit to operate a recreational vessel. A licence is generally not required to hire a jet ski or join a jet ski safari. Some providers require a minimum age of 16.
Can a 2 month old baby go in the sea?
Baby swimming during the first six month should not take place in sea-water (see explanatory note 1). Babies should wear specialised waterproof nappies, and ideally double nappies, to prevent leakage. Very careful introduction must be carried out to prevent a long-term fear of water being developed. Once they are happy, you can increase both the length of time and depth. For babies under six months old, the Swimming Teachers’ Association (STA) suggests a maximum of four intentional submersions per session. For babies six to 12 months, six intentional submersions per session is ok.
