Are scuba hoodies worth the money?
The scuba material is one of my favorite lululemon materials. It’s super soft, doesn’t pill, washes well time after time. You can own one of these hoodies for years and it will still look new, which makes it an item that turns out to be pretty good value in the long run, as you’ll get a ton of wear out of it. My old hoodie barely looks worn (a feat! I’ve already washed and dried it several times, and it still looks brand new – no fading, and very little shrinking. Furthermore, Lululemon’s Scuba fleeces all have some heft to them.
Are scuba hoodies meant to be tight?
Scuba is definitely meant to be form fitting and “stiff” to hold its shape. They’re more polished looking to me than a normal sweatshirt. That’s why I like them. I wouldn’t say any of mine have loosened though. The tight fits allow for easy movement and are said to reduce muscle vibration, thus reducing drag. This also reduces the possibility that a high-forward dive will remove a diver’s swimwear.
