What wetsuits do navy SEALs use?
The SEALs are wearing diving masks and MK 25 rebreathers – a type of closed circuit SCUBA – over hooded Xcel Infiniti Synergy wetsuits. They have removed their flippers and have them looped over their right arm. Wetsuits such as those shown here are made from foamed neoprene, a synthetic rubber. Wetsuits and Dive Gear Wetsuits use closed-cell, laminated neoprene that insulates and repels water. While wetsuits don’t keep you dry, they use neoprene to trap a thin layer of water, warmed by body heat.Just like above, we’d highly recommend that if you want to wet a wetsuit before putting it on, then make sure you’re wet too. If you’re wet and the suit is dry, that could lead to tears or damage to the suit because you’re trying to finagle your way in something that’s just not working. If your wetsuit is decent and comfortable, you don’t have to wear anything under it. Wetsuits are designed to trap a thin layer of water between you and your suit, your body then heats that water to help keep you warm.NAVY SEAL DIVING WETSUITS These wetsuits are primarily used for diving operations and are designed to keep the SEALs warm and protected from the elements while submerged in water. These suits are typically made of neoprene material and come in varying thicknesses depending on the water temperature. If your wetsuit is too loose, cold water will enter the suit freely or “flush through”. Water sloshing around in your wetsuit isn’t conducive to you being the best you. You’ll feel cold, weighed down, and sad.
