They work by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that cause pain and fever.Paracetamol is a known centrally acting analgesic and antipyretic drug that helps reduce fever and pain. The studies of Boitel and Kiersch both show that Paracetamol + Propyphenazone + Caffeine (Saridon®) works better than plain 500mg paracetamol.Simple analgesia/painkillers Paracetamol is safe in doses up to 4 grams daily and rarely causes side-effects.
