How to maintain my bodyboard?
Always do your best to store your board in a cool place and avoid it from overheating. If you have to leave it out in the sun, make sure you put in a boardbag or cover it with a towel and worst case scenario, cover it with sand. Rinse off your board with cool fresh water after every use. Use a dry eraser to erase the board as much as possible. Then, use a whiteboard cleaner and a paper towel. If a whiteboard cleaner is unavailable, use a damp cloth. Continue wiping the board with a clean towel until it no longer collects dirt or dust.
Is a bigger bodyboard better?
Bigger bodyboards are not necessarily better; it depends on your size, weight, and skill level. Larger boards offer more buoyancy and stability but can be less manoeuvrable. One of the most crucial factors when choosing a wakeboard is size. A wakeboard that’s too small or too large for your weight and height can hinder your performance. As a rule, the bigger the board, the more stable it will be. Smaller boards tend to be quicker but require more skill to control.
Is bodyboarding a good workout?
It’s a great cardiovascular workout. Bodyboarding provides the same cardio benefits as running and similar exercises, but with less stress on your joints due to the water alleviating the impact. One hour of bodyboarding can burn around 400 calories, depending on how intense your workout is. Even just leisurely swimming around the ocean for an hour can burn more than 300 calories. But add in some wave jumping and you can really boost that number. An hour of kayaking will help you build upper body strength while also burning 272 calories per hour. Boogie boarding can burn close to 140 calories.
