We recommend speedo or jammer style swimsuits instead of heavy swim bottoms that may hinder their ability to swim efficiently. Another key element, especially with younger swimmers, is how easy the swimwear is to put on and take off. In fact, most professional swimmers remove all their body hair prior to a competition. This isn’t all hearsay – research proves that removing body hair does actually reduce drag in the water. If you watch any professional athletics, cycling, or swimming race, you’ll notice that most – if not all – of the competitors, both men and women, will have removed their body hair.
