Are scuba hoodies meant to be tight?
Scuba is definitely meant to be form fitting and “stiff” to hold its shape. They’re more polished looking to me than a normal sweatshirt. That’s why I like them. I wouldn’t say any of mine have loosened though. The tight fits allow for easy movement and are said to reduce muscle vibration, thus reducing drag. This also reduces the possibility that a high-forward dive will remove a diver’s swimwear.
What is a scuba style hood?
Wetsuit hoods are typically made of the same material as wetsuits (neoprene) and are detachable head coverings that are used to increase thermal insulation when you are underwater. This basically means that wetsuit hoods help to keep you much warmer when you are diving in cooler water conditions. A hooded wetsuit is the better option for the surfer who fears no weather and is ready to chase the winter swells, come snow or shine. This is because they offer more protection from the cold water due to the minimal gaps and seams in the neoprene.
Are scuba hoodies worth the money?
The scuba material is one of my favorite lululemon materials. It’s super soft, doesn’t pill, washes well time after time. You can own one of these hoodies for years and it will still look new, which makes it an item that turns out to be pretty good value in the long run, as you’ll get a ton of wear out of it. I also found fake Wunder Unders with the tag attached on the rip-out tag, as well as another fake Scuba Hoodie. You can tell that they’re fake because Lululemon does not attach tags onto the rip-out tag. If you see this, that means it’s fake.
