Are underwater scooters safe?

How long do underwater scooters last?
There are different designs for sea scooters and in general the batteries will last for 60, 90 or 150 minutes of continual use. Because sea scooters are so lightweight if the battery does run out whilst you are still on a dive you will be able to tow them back to shore/the boat yourself if you have to. Electric scooter batteries (lithium-ion types) typically last between 2 to 3 years or around 300 to 500 charge cycles, whichever threshold is reached first.
Can you take an underwater scooter on a plane?
Yes, generally. The scooter body can usually be checked in, but the lithium-ion battery must be removed and carried in carry-on luggage, provided it’s under 160 Wh and meets airline approval. While most people assume airlines charge extra for everything, mobility scooters are usually free to check in.
