Should you leave your SaluSpa on all the time?
Once your hot tub enters hibernation mode, all functions will stop. To reactivate it, simply press any button on the control panel. Keeping the hot tub heater on too long could cause damage to the heater or filtration system. Never operate your SaluSpa for 24 hours, 7 days a week. We advise leaving your inflatable hot tub on all the time to maintain proper water chemistry and temperature.Quick Answer: Typical Heating Times Most hot tubs need about 4 to 12 hours to heat up from cold to the optimal 100°F to 104°F range. Smaller hot tubs may take less time.Generally, you can leave hot tubs on continually because they are supposed to operate like that. It’s also more economical than heating the water from cold each time you want a luxurious soak. Some hot tubs have particularly good insulation, and a hot tub’s cover (if you use it) will help keep heat loss to a minimum. With good maintenance, water in inflatable hot tubs lasts around 3–4 months. Keeping pH, alkalinity, and sanitiser levels in check is essential. More people and more frequent use mean more frequent water changes. A clean filter and a snug cover will extend water life.
How often should I shock SaluSpa?
For best results, you should perform a non-chlorine shock weekly as part of your regular maintenance. A stronger chlorine shock is recommended every 2-4 weeks, or immediately after heavy bather use, to fully sanitise the water. You do need to use both tabs and shock. Without tabs, the chlorine shock will dissipate quickly out of the water; without shock, the chlorine level will not get high enough to fully sanitize the water. You should aim to keep the chlorine level at between 1 and 3 ppm.
How often should I change the water in SaluSpa?
While we recommend changing the water every one to three months, if you notice the water is getting dirtier sooner, there are some things you can do to keep the water cleaner for longer: When you’re not using the hot tub, make sure to put the cover on. Change your Lay‑Z‑Spa water every 1 month if you use your hot tub 3 or more times a week or a maximum of 3 months if you use it less frequently and are good with regular chemical maintenance. If you are planning on using your Lay‑Z‑Spa frequently, we recommend leaving the heat and filter on all the time as this is the most cost‑effective in the long run. If you plan to use your Lay‑Z‑Spa less regularly, you could drop the temperature down then reheat for use.
